Send Out the Clowns

Remember this guy from a previous post?

That’s right: the clown who loves to party. The clown who was with me when we went to seek our fortunes. The clown who wasn’t worth a dime.

I let him go – emotionally – but decided to give him one more chance at financial success. So last Saturday he perched on my tag sale table, gleaming in the sun, proudly wearing a $1 price sticker.

An hour later, his price was reduced to 50 cents. Is he worth it? Of course! He’s a vintage item. Then 25 cents; still gleaming hopefully; still no takers. Then came the really fun part…

For the last half hour of the sale, we decided everything would be FREE. (Including clowns.) People were amazed, and it was great to see them going home happy with bags of useful goodies. They took toys, clothing, furniture, knickknacks, you name it. And our vintage friend?

STILL unwanted. But he was worth a laugh!
