My dear person who reads this blog, I’m about to show you my kitchen desk drawer. Yes, finally– after nine months of slowly getting rid of things — I’ve come to the point of noticing what’s inside my cabinets and drawers. It’s about time, as you shall see.
I fear that you may not like me after you see it.
But I’m going to show you anyway, because I want to give you hope for the messy areas of your own home.
Are you ready for this unsightly ‘before’ photo? I can assure you there’s been no airbrushing or photoshopping here. (Oh, and if you should happen to be a criminal type who wandered across this photo in cyberspace… every receipt here is from a closed account. Keep wandering. Or, better yet, give up your life of crime.)
Yes, it’s beyond bad. I know. And then there’s the neglected drawer organizer. Did it live inside a drawer? No, it did not.
Also bad. I know.
Almost everything in that drawer was trash. Garbage. Yes, I’ve been using prime real estate to store garbage. But not anymore! Looky! looky! looky!:
And it took fifteen minutes.
(I still need to add some shelf liner so things don’t slide around in there; and I might allow a few pens or other supplies to live there. But only if they behave.)
Stay tuned for more before-and-after events, coming soon!
