Who I Am… and Who I Want to Be

What can I say? I’m a child of God living in the joy of Jesus’ empty tomb who’s surrounded by some pretty incredible people. I’m wife to a wonderful, loving, trustworthy, faithful and funny man. (Oh, and he’s a Lutheran pastor, which brings countless other people into my life.) I’m mom to three daughters (ages 4-13) and a few other babies I look forward to meeting in heaven.

I’m a flutist/pianist/singer of usable talent. I enjoy nearly all things musical, and prefer to dabble (church praise band, occasional handbells, choir, flute descants, kids music for VBS, a dash of music history) instead of specialize.

I stay busy with things I mostly enjoy: teaching my children, cooking, gardening, laundry, thrift store shopping, knitting, reading…

And I aspire to all that PLUS:

to have a home that’s free of meaningless distractions, but has plenty of room for people, prayer, music, and memories.

To be a woman with a clutter-free spirit. I want to be so stuffed with Jesus that He has to come bursting out in everything I do and say!

Glad I peeked before I go to read! I recently started a hodge podge blog I am hoping to refine. I have three daughters, 8-12, and I am married to a pastor. I do not have your musical ability to match 🙂 I’ll visit again!

    Hi Heidi!
So fun to find you on FB and see that you are up to amazing things and the rich life you have been blessed with. You always were very talented with words, music and teaching so your blog nomination does not surprise me! I’m still trying to learn the world of how to blog(www.thebradfordadoption.blogspot.com) so it’s fun to see what a wonderful one you have set up.
    All my best!

  3. I love your last two paragraphs! Those seem like some of the best possible things to aspire to!

Thank you, Sheila! I’m really trying to remember to keep the meaningless distractions to a minimum this month, while we prepare for Christmas.

Thanks for stopping by to read and comment. 🙂
